Glen Berman, Executive Director and General Counsel of the Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association for the past six years, has accepted the same position with the Florida HBPA. The Illinois organization has immediately begun a search for his replacement. National Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association General Counsel, Alan Foreman, will serve the ITHA as interim General Counsel.
“Glen’s knowledge, skills and capabilities have been instrumental in helping establish the ITHA as one of the most respected horsemen’s associations in North America,” said ITHA President Mike Campbell. “Glen now has an opportunity to help shape the future of the Gulfstream racing market and we couldn’t be more excited for him. The ITHA’s loss is the FHBPA’s considerable gain.”
In a release, the ITHA added:
The ITHA Board of Directors expresses its sincere and deep gratitude for Glen’s exceptional service to the ITHA and ardent commitment to the interests of Illinois owners and trainers. We could not have accomplished all that we have without Glen’s professional contribution, and we wish him well.
Berman starts his stint with the FHBPA on February 15.
