Altoona, IA – Nominations for the 2021 Iowa Festival of Racing stakes races at Prairie Meadows Casino, Racetrack, and Hotel in Altoona, IA will close on Saturday, July 19, 2021.

This year’s Iowa Festival of Racing will take place on Friday, July 2 and Saturday, July 3.

On Friday, July 2, Prairie Meadows will offer the $225,000-guaranteed Iowa Oaks (Grade III) for three-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles, the $250,000-guaranteed Iowa Derby (Listed) for three-year-olds at 1 1/16 miles, and the $300,000-guaranteed Prairie Meadows Cornhusker Handicap (Grade III) for three-year-olds and up at 1 1/8 miles.

On Saturday, July 3, Prairie Meadows will schedule the $100,000-guaranteed Saylorville (Black Type) for fillies and mares, three-year-olds and up, at 6 furlongs, the $100,000-guaranteed Iowa Distaff (Black Type) for fillies and mares, three-year-olds and up, at 1 1/16 miles, and the $100,00-guaranteed Iowa Sprint (Black Type) for three-year-olds and up at 6 furlongs.
