SHAKOPEE, MN – The redoubtable Dickie Bob is favored in the field of seven for the $20,000 Bob Morehouse Stakes to be run this evening at Canterbury Park at 350 yards.
While Dickie Bob may be the 9/5 morning line favorite, the 8-year-old Minnesota bred legend has not won since October of 2022. Earlier this year he just missed in the Grade 2 Bob Moore at Remington Park, but was 6th as the odds-on favorite, after stumbling out of the gate, in an allowance in his local debut. His best speed index numbers stand over this field and he should win on his best day, but there are others that may primed for an upset.
Eos Whiskey Girl made her local debut a winning one last out with a 16-1 cruising victory in the North Star State Derby on June 7. She’ll need every bit of that effort to win here but she has shown she’s capable.
Relentless Legacy was a neck away from being 3 for 3 in 2023 and is owner of a 2 race winning streak.
The Minnesota bred stake is the 8th race on the card with an approximate post time of 8:37. There are a pair of other quarter horse races on the card as well as six thoroughbred races beginning at 5:07 PM Central Time.
