SHAKOPEE, MN – The battling brothers from Lunderborg LLC, Dickey Bob and Pyc Jess Bite Mydust, will be at it again on what promises to be an off track in the 300 yard, $25,000, North Star State Stakes for Minnesota bred quarter horses at Canterbury Park.
The brothers (Apollitical Jess – Paint or More) are trained by Jason Olmstead and will break from the center of the seven horse field. In 2018, Dickey Bob captured both the Bob Morehouse and Cash Caravan stakes at the expense of his younger brother and also was the Minnesota Derby winner. Pyc Jess Bite Mydust was able to take home the championship of this race last season. However, Dickey Bob maintains a 2-0 lead over his stablemate in head to head battles. This will be their first matchup this year.
Both are taking the same path to the Canterbury season as they did last year. Each has a start at Remington Park to prep them for the current campaign. The pair should be quite a force here this season.
Should they falter, stakes placed Jess a Rumor (second in this race last year), lightly race 3-year old Fantastic Feelyn (2nd Minnesota Futurity) and last year’s third place finisher in the Minnesota Derby, Eos Marie Leveau could all pose threats.
